Takashima D-13 1.2mm DLC Coating Black Luxury Edition Spring Steel Chassis for MTC3
Takashima D-13 1.2mm DLC Coating Black Luxury Edition Spring Steel Chassis for MTC3
Following the successful release of their spring steel touring car chassis, Takashima D-13 now introduces the Black Luxury Edition spring steel chassis which is finished with advanced DLC coating technology. Every difficulty became motivation for further development and improvement and due to the physical characteristics of spring steel, it is highly sensitive to humidity and salt in the air, making it extremely prone to surface rust. While this does not affect its performance, it can impact the overall visual experience for drivers.
After extensive testing and multiple coating trials, Takashima D-13 ultimately selected DLC technology as the solution. This not only effectively prevents rust, but also transforms the chassis from its original silver finish into a deep black tone, while preserving the natural metallic grain texture. The result is a perfect fusion of industrial precision and mechanical artistry — the machining lines flow across the entire surface, giving the product a strong, refined presence.
Paired with their upcoming 120° carbon steel 12.9 grade black colour TORX screws, it creates a striking and cohesive visual statement on the track.

The Spring Steel Chassis package DOES NOT include the 120 Degree Screw Set
Please read the following information:
Because the steel plate is only 1.2 mm thick, it cannot be installed using traditional 90-degree countersunk screws. Our chassis plate must be installed with 120-degree countersunk M3 flat-head screws. (Using non-120-degree screws will enlarge the holes and cause permanent damage to the plate.)
Although you may find this type of screw on the market, we strongly recommend using our Takashima D-13 factory-custom screws for the best installation results.
Our custom screws feature:
-
Each screw specification is manufactured with its own independent mold. The precision surpasses mass-produced screws of the same size, ensuring that once installed on the steel plate, the screw head sits perfectly flush without any protrusion, preventing deformation of the plate.
-
The screws are made of carbon steel with a silver-coated surface and have a strength rating of 12.9. The recommended tightening torque for all M3 screws is 0.8 N·m to achieve longer service life and better resistance to frequent assembly and disassembly.
-
The depth of the screwdriver engagement has been specially adjusted to ensure the recess is deep enough for secure tightening, reducing the chance of stripping.
Due to the natural physical properties of steel, rust may occur, especially after the anti-rust coating on the plate wears down. This is a normal phenomenon, and we kindly ask for your understanding.
